Hunter Valley Engagement

Hunter Valley Engagement

For August 2018, we were invited by one of our wedding couples {darlings Abbie & Luke} to experience the glorious Hunter Valley Wine Country for an engagement session. That was the second time this year that we shot an engagement session there and we couldn’t have been more excited. Since darling Thi & Anthony’s engagement session made us discover and then fall in love with this region in March 2018, we’ve been back to The Hunter a lot for catchup dinners throughout this year, sampling all the wineries’ restaurants with T & A and, frankly, having a wonderful time as a family - Amber included, who always gets double-spoilt at Hunter Valley restaurants with her wolf charme.

In August, we were back in The Hunter for our second breathtaking sunset shoot in the epic scenery there this year.

With 2018 being our caravan gypsy year on the road, I don’t remember now whether we were driving up to Brisbane from Melbourne or down to Melbourne from Brisbane on our way from wedding work in QLD to Tahbilk Winery in VIC or vice versa, but I recall that on the day of this shoot, Doruk and I arrived at Singleton just in time to get something local and delicious to eat and find some beautiful flowers. We got both food & flowers in our one go-to favourite eatery & flower boutique in Singleton - Worn Out Wares and Flowers. Then we met Abbie & Luke in town, so we could follow them to their family’s property tucked away deep in the sun-kissed hills here.

In my lap, I had a bunch of burgundy chrysanthemums, some Geraldton wax and foliage… On my timer, I had 40 minutes of extra bumpy roads along the hills ahead to create a bouquet and floral wreath as a little gift for Abbie to wear for her engagement shoot. And Luke was a super fast driver - good that Doruk used to be a car racing photographer and drift race driver in Istanbul, so he kept up with Luke very well on this drive, making the flowers and me fly around in the car, but making sure not to lose his tail in the hills because we also didn’t have mobile reception there. I made something just in time and I reckon it worked well for the shoot, but you can be the judge of that.

Abbie & Luke, thanks for taking us to new places. Our lives are richer for it.
Enjoy your photos, darlings!

xx Tina & Doruk
