Lisa + David … •☾• … Mount Tamborine Autumn Engagement
It’s no secret that autumn is our favourite season. Those of you who have been with us for a while would have seen us buying a caravan last year and heading South to country Victoria to have more autumn in our lives. Brisbane lacks a little bit of that thing called a season and looks the same throughout the year. This year, we’re kinda back in Brisbane and are not travelling around as extremely as last year, so whenever we can, we schedule engagement sessions in the little pockets around Brisbane that do deliver a bit of autumn magic. Tamborine Botanic Gardens are glorious in autumn and Lisa & David wanted photos by the lookout, so we went there last Sunday to have some fun at sunset.
Doruk and I love Tamborine and have spent so many days and nights there for weddings, shoots, picnics and holidays with our family. Sometimes we just explore the little lanes and roads, the trees and how the light changes as the day progresses and as the seasons come and go. By now, we can sense a good sunset a few hours before it’s happening and with each shoot, we learn more about the weather and light around all the beautiful places we get to go to. The sun was particularly generous for Lisa & David’s engagement shoot and some of the trees played along and showed off their red and yellow autumn leaves. On the way from the Botanic Garden to the lookout, we pulled over at a glorious autumn tree because the sun was still too high up for the lookout. So we got some dreamy shots in the autumn landscape, also found a fence that had a sign on it that said ‘Ever After’, then we headed to Robert Sowter lookout, full of picnickers, as usual, but we went ahead anyways. We got to enjoy a glorious golden sunset and Lisa & David had brought extra glasses along for us to join in on their bottle of champagne when the shoot was done. All in all, another perfect day for all of us in Paradise.
Looking over their photos and editing them, I thought to myself that this is possibly the most diverse engagement shoot we have done so far in terms of the variety of tones, moods and photos that we produced within that quick hour of shooting. We approach each engagement session as a blank slate and just plan ahead for outfits, light & location with our couples, the rest depends on what’s happening around us and what the scenery offers. This was a lovely one and we felt really content when we drove home after it. Lisa & David are absolutely warm, confident, loved-up and witty Professionals who needed zero time to ease into the photo situation and who made the entire shoot really enjoyable for us. We are so looking forward to their wedding this August.
We will let their engagement photos do the rest of the talking. As always, please leave us a comment below if you want to share your thoughts about these photos. We always love hearing from you.
Lisa & David • Enjoy your engagement photos, Lovers, and thanks for sharing your champagne with us at the lookout when we were done taking photos. Your fine art prints, wooden keepsake USB and bespoke magazines will arrive in the mail soon.
xx Tina & Doruk
What rain? Nothing phases this beautiful family of three. We had a weather forecast of scattered thunderstorms ahead of our engagement shoot out at Samford, but decided to go for it regardless. We were rewarded with a gorgeous moody sky and an extra charming session with Mich, Charles and their Australian Shepherd baby Frankie. I had spent the previous evening making some blush pink florals for Mich’s hat and for Frankie. They decided to use my wreath for Frankie at their wedding when she will be the ring bearer - so looking forward for all of that to go down this June.
